Hello my name is Tocho, which means mountain lion. I am in the Hopi tribe. We weave and make pottery everyday. We grow beans, squash, and corn, which are known as the the three sisters. They are very good when they are done growing. We grow yellow, red, blue, and white corn. I like the white corn because its delicious when I eat it. We keep left over food in our pueblos, and we, the Hopis, are mostly found in the southwest and mostly found in Arizona. That is in a very hot and dry region. There are not many people here because it is so hot.

At our special ceremonies, we always do our special bean dance. I think it is very fun and hilarious. We live in a big house called Pueblos. They have many rooms. Some pueblos have over 100 rooms! Isn’t that amazing?

Next I will introduce you to my wonderful family. My dad's name is Abula, and my mothers name is Casseka. My brothers name is Abula Jr, and I have a little sister named Casse. I am the oldest child in the family, and I am very proud of it. My parents taught us so much, especially about our heritage.

Facts about the hopi tribe: Almost every Hopi people speak english today and some still do speak Hopi language. Hopi houses are still used by some people today. Some Hopis lived in abodoe houses, and the Hopi people do the same thing that we do today. They eat, play, and go to school like normal kids. Today many Hopi people still wear moccasins or mantas.

I learned that native american people build all types of houses like teepees, pueblos, and huts. I think that native americans are cool, and they made a lot of different things than what we make today. I would also like to meet a real native american person. I learned that some native american people hunted big buffalo, and sometimes they used animal skin and fur to wear as clothing.
